What Home Means to Me

Anyone who has a Home knows the joys of it. The feeling of security and safeness. The sense of happiness it brings you. The possessions that fill it with fun and laughter. Not everyone has that. Some people's homes don't have a frame, bricks, electricity, or a sturdy roof. Sometimes their home is a cardboard box, a tent or a street corner. They don’t have a sink that constantly has clean water to drink or a fridge full of food. They don’t have electricity waiting to be used. They may not even feel safe. A House or a Home? A home is special to you and holds a dear place in your heart. You have your own room or shared with someone you love and who loves you too. You don’t feel the need to knock to get in or ask to get food, you just go in and grab stuff. A house is different from a home entirely. It isn’t in your heart always and you feel you cannot just walk in without knocking. You ask for a drink, a snack or to go outside. You may not feel as comfortable in a house, as you do in your own home. I have moved and when you move you feel uncomfortable in the new House for a bit but it starts to grow on you and you make memories there and then it isn’t like a House anymore it's more like a Home. I’ve gone through all that and in the end it is all worth it. My Home is so special to me and I think everyone deserves that special place to have fun and relax with family. That is what home means to me.
