Grounded In Place

GROUNDED IN PLACE Who slept here before I came? Were their dreams and mine the same? Who lived in this room? How did it look? Was it alike? Did little boys or little girls roam the halls at night? I sit on my bed and gaze out the window at the starry sight. Home to me is not a room with four walls. It’s a place where I feel welcome. Where I can be myself. I can laugh and cry. I can share my smile. I can learn from my mistakes and most importantly I can make memories. I walk outside in the short, soft, weedy grass, I feel grounded in place. I am home.
