Home Is A Blessing
Home is more than just a house,
A house is made of brick and cement, but a home is made by the people,
It doesn’t just have a door, a couple windows and a roof,
Home is a safe place that welcomes me every day,
It’s where I my dreams are made.
Home to me is loving, safe and happy. It’s where my memories lay,
The laughter and arguing in the dining room about the which board game to play,
The fire in my living room keeps us warm as we read our books,
My own room that is personal to me. Where I can play around with the looks,
I go to sleep at night and think about my day and think about the people that don’t have proper homes,
They go to sleep hungry, scared, and worried,
And wake up the same.
I get to have a home where I can sleep peacefully, and quietly,
Wake up to the smell of burnt pancakes and bacon and hugs from my mom and dad,
Eat my meals in peace and quiet. The smell of popcorn on movie night,
It’s where I learned to walk and ride my bike. Learn to be good and learn my lessons,
Where I play board games and read. It’s where I can laugh and have a good cry.
It’s sad that not everyone has a home. They don’t get to have fun happy memories,
Everyone should have a home. Where they can sleep peacefully and soundly at night,
It should be their space where they can speak their minds,
They should feel happy and loved. Safe,
Home is a Blessing.
