My Home

When I think of my home it makes me happy, For it is a part of what makes my life worthwhile. It is where I find comfort at the end of a bad day, It is the welcoming people who greet us when we have been away. It is the familiar sounds that bring back so many memories, It is the smell of Friday night cookies baking in the oven. It is the annoying doorbell ringing, It is the celebrations that helps us measure time. My home is a safe space where I find hope, Somewhere I gather my strength. It is a place of happy laughter and also ones with tears, But what really makes my home such a special place, Is the never-ending love we share. So, wherever life may take me whatever future that lies ahead, This home will last forever, lying in my head.
