Home
Having a home could look and mean different things to different people. Some people live in a big house, or a small house, an apartment, a condo, a cottage or even a trailer. I am lucky enough to live in a nice house and I share it with my mom, my dad, my sister and my dog. I have a backyard which is where I play with my dog and have bonfires with friends and family.
A home to me is not just four walls and a roof. To me, a home is a loving place, with my family, lots of memories, and everything I need to keep me safe, healthy, and happy.
My home is filled with good memories, but some bad ones as well. Lots of good memories that I have at my house are: sharing holidays with my family, having sleepovers with my friends, having parties, family dinners, bringing my new puppy home for the first time and celebrating birthdays. For my first birthday my dad got me a bunny stuffed animal. She’s one of my favorite memories because I had her since I was one years old and I still have her. I even remember when you pressed on her hand it played “Happy birthday”. But now it plays “Happy birthday” very silently and you can barely hear it.
My home is very comforting especially when I’m sick. There is nowhere else I’d rather be than watching a movie with my dog on my couch, drinking 7up, taking a long nap, and eating chicken noodle soup. I feel safe and calm at my home.
Most people, like me and my family are lucky to have a house they can call home, but some people unfortunately don’t have a place to call home.
Some people who are lucky enough to own a home, take it for granted, and don’t realize how lucky they are. Many people are always complaining about the things they don’t have, they always want something more. Most people don’t realize that there are other people in the world who don’t even have a roof over their heads.
I feel very lucky to have the nice home I have. It’s a place I feel safe and loved. I love all my memories I have in my house, and I hope to continue making more memories. If I go to any other place, I know that I will always have a home to come back to.
