A Safe Place

I have a house Some people don’t I have somewhere safe to go Some people don’t Some people have a home, not a house Someone's home might be on a street Their bed might be a bench Someone might have a house, but with no heat I have a house where my family cares for me Some people freeze outside where nobody cares for them Just by writing a poem you can give somebody a warm safe place to live That is why I am writing this Over one million people in Canada don’t have a safe place to live Everybody deserves A Safe Place
