Meaning of Home

Home is not only something that protects you from the rain or snow, it is also a place with warmth, with people that support you, and where you can celebrate holidays with your loved ones. I feel at home when I am warm. The nice warm blanket covers us as we watch a movie on the big TV. When we are all together it makes me feel home. Always having a warm place to sleep makes me feel really cheerful and cozy. Knowing that when I am cold, I will always have a nice warm fireplace to sit by with my family it makes me feel really happy. I feel supported when I am at home. I wake up every morning knowing that I am going to have a great day. When I come home there are always smiles on everyone's faces and it makes me feel welcome and supported. I know that I can always be myself at home. I can always be myself at home because everyone will not care if you are different. With warmth I will always feel at home. I feel at home during the holidays. The smell of a new Christmas tree makes me feel cheerful. Gathering with my family to have a delicious dinner for the holidays. Being with all my family members makes me feel super thankful for the amazing family that I have. The crisp, peppermint smelling candles flowing through my home on the holidays makes me feel joyful. With the holidays I will always be home. Home is not only the building, but it is a place where you can find warmth and people that support you. It’s my hope that the Habitat for Humanity can help the people in need of a home so they can find the warmth and support that I am so lucky to receive.
