Home

Home is not just a place. It is a collection of tokens from my life and my family. Home is the red Chinese character “Fu” on the front door. It celebrates my cultural heritage and tells where I come from. Home is the markings of my height on the family room wall. They sketch the journey of my growth and path to adulthood. Home is the model planes in my bedroom. They carry my dream and show who I want to be when I grow up. Home is the books in my study. They open the door to knowledge and help me see the world through different lenses. Home is the magnets on the fridge door in the kitchen. They showcase the places I have been to and my desire to explore the bigger world. Home is the vegetable garden in the backyard planted by my grandparents. It teaches me wisdom from the older generation and the power of care and hard work. Home is the photos on the mantel in the living room. They remind me of the fond memories and cherishable moments of my family. Home is the teepee tent in the basement. It heard the stories of my friends and me and witnessed our friendships grow. The laughter and conversations echo through the rooms. Every corner holds a piece of my history. Home is more than a place. Home is an escape where I unwind and recharge. Home is a haven where I find comfort, love, and a sense of belonging. Home is a cradle that shapes who I am. Home is a foundation that builds my future and dreams.
