Home Is Not Just a Place

Home is not just a place; it is a meaning in our minds. It makes me feel safe when I’m in danger. It does not have to be a place. It can be your family. To me, home is my family, but not for everyone. Some people think that home is their place. I love my family, so that means they are my home. There are lots of meanings of home, and this is mine. My home is my family and friends. I see my brother, my mom, and my dad. I hear my brother raging, my dad cooking, and my mom resting. I smell my dad’s cooking, my brother’s deodorant, and my mom’s perfume. I hug my mom and dad and play around with my brother. I taste my dad’s food and my brother’s cooking. My favorite thing about my home is my family. I feel safe with my family. Inside my home, it is a calm place. A house is a real place, but a home does not have to be just a place. It can be a book or family. Home can be anything - from a place to a person. You can choose. Home can make you feel safe. A house might not always make you feel safe. Home is better than a house, so they are two different things.
