Where My Heart Rests
Home is where my heart rests,
I came all the way from east to west.
I feel I have completed my quest,
Finding a new place to rest,
Always thinking about my homeland.
India is a country filled with love,
They made the Taj Mahal, a gift from above,
Filled with loving art.
Every house is filled with love, never being apart.
Smelling the flavorful spices,
Seeing the colorful slices,
Seeing people at their nicest,
No one on their devices.
My big family is always filled with laughter,
We are making memories that we will cherish after.
We are going to remember, when we come here after,
All those moments of laughter.
India is filled with forests to deserts, mountains to snow,
India is filled with nature,
There is so much to adventure,
Old and new, beautiful structures,
Seeing India’s bright future.
India is filled with farms,
They mean no harm.
It is like a lucky charm,
It is where I find the most calm.
Going to my village, seeing the morning fog,
At night beneath the stars, I find my calm.
Cutting the food for the cows on the farm,
The misty fields are quiet, soft, and warm.
We celebrate Holi, a festival full of vibrant colors,
Then comes Vaisakhi, a carnival where fun is controlled by the rides and controllers.
After that, Diwali lights up the night, a festival of glowing colors,
In India, every festival is joyful, lively, and colorful.
India is my homeland, the place where I grew up and learned who I am,
It is where I learned to stand tall and be strong,
It is a land, with snowy mountains, hot deserts, and soft sandy lands,
I am proud to say that I belong to this land.
