Meaning of Home
A home means to me that I am very comfortable, safe, and relaxed. You can live in a house or a home, and a home is a safe environment. A home is a place where you feel happy. A home is also a place where you can express your feelings.
Sight: In my home, I see my family, my toys, my sister, my cat, and my brother.
Sound: I hear the TV on, my mom working out with music, and sometimes my sister playing her weekend playlist.
Smell: I smell a sweet treat waiting for me to eat.
Touch: I touch my toys, my iPad, my very soft couch, my bed, and my jewelry.
Taste: I taste my grandma’s cutlets, my mom’s amazing rice, salad, soup, homemade lemonade, and my sister’s brownies.
My favorite thing to do is play with my sister. I also enjoy playing with my dolls and my cat. Home makes me feel comfortable, relaxed, safe, and supported. Home creates feelings, like when I fall down the stairs and my sister helps me. Afterwards, we remember it as a funny memory.
A home feels like a house, but a house does not always feel like a home. Some people are homeless because they lost their jobs or cannot pay rent or taxes. I can help homeless people by giving them money, food, blankets, pillows, drinks, and company. Homeless people may have no family, so I can give them love and appreciation. It makes my heart sad to see people living on the cold, dirty streets.
In my house, I see my sister, brother, family, cat, and toys. I smell a sweet treat waiting for me. I hear the TV, my sister playing music, and my dad working out with loud music. I touch my toys, my soft couch, my bed, and my jewelry. I taste my homemade lemonade and my sister’s brownies.
To me, my home is my safe, warm place where I can share my love and feelings. At home, I can build fun, joyful memories.
