Home can be Anywhere

Home is much more than just a building or an address. When I think of home, I think of safety: home is a safe place that protects my loved ones and my cherished belongings. It’s the feeling of being hugged by a family member and sinking into their warm embrace. It’s sipping a comforting hot chocolate by the fire on a cold day. Home makes me feel protected and warm, as though I’m being enveloped in a soft blanket of love. My home is also my family. When I’m with my family, having fun or doing day-to-day chores, I feel a rush of joy that reminds me that I am loved, no matter who I decide to be. Walking through the door after school and smelling cookies feels like home. I feel at home when I’m with my family, friends, and pets, who I can’t live without, creating those feelings and moments that make me feel fuzzy inside. My home is the foundation of my life, the space where I am safe to dream about my future, and who I want to be. I feel steady and secure in my home, anchored and loved, able to go anywhere. A home is the place where I feel at peace, the familiar place that I yearn for when I am away. It is where I make treasured memories and the place that I love so deeply that I never wish to see it go. Home is safety, care, family, and dreams - it is not limited to one specific place, it can be anywhere. Everyone deserves a place they can truly call home.
