My Home- Not Just a House

Hi, I ‘m Emma and I do live in a house but it’s not always my home. To me, home is a feeling, like a blanket woven of kindness and fond memories. Even on snowy days, when I’m home, it’s always warm inside and out. It’s like a forcefield that protects anyone from bad feelings and gives happy ones. My home is my family: my dog Pearl, my two brothers Henry and Simon and my parents. My home is my family because they are the people who have loved me since the moment I was born. They are the people who make me laugh when I am about to cry and they are the ones who never get tired of me saying “Guess what? Chicken Butt!”. My home is where I can play my violin and get a round of applause no matter how many mistakes I make. Home is where me and my brothers can make a pretend marching band with make believe instruments with my dog marching and barking right behind us. My home is my bed. It’s warm and cozy. It’s my favourite place to cuddle up under the blankets with a book and live in the world of Anne of Green Gables, Harry Potter, Mathilda or live forever with Tuck Everlasting. Home is where I can laugh and cry at the same time over getting hit by a runaway snowball (mostly laugh though). Later, there are snow projectiles flying everywhere and everyone is laughing. Home is when its summer and we get out the waterguns and play Star Wars. So, what I am saying is home is somewhere where you are always comfortable and loved. This is my story of home. It might not be like yours, but I hope yours is just as cozy.
