O’Canada! My Home!

Finding a home is to find people like you and me. My grandparents came to Canada from a foreign country. I was born a Canadian though my heritage is Cantonese. I attend a French Immersion school, meeting diverse friends who get along in peace. Home is not just my family, friends, and community. A big part of my home is Canada, my beautiful country. Being a Canadian is always a win. My country, my home, always makes me grin. Canada is beautiful with lots of cool scenery. My family and I have travelled from the East coast to the West. I have skied on the snow capped mountains in Banff, and it was the best! I had frozen maple syrup in the ice castle of Lake Louise. In Quebec City, I have tasted the best poutine with fresh cheese. In the village of Mont Tremblant, I painted an elephant ceramic. On the dockyards of the Halifax Waterfront, I swung on a hammock. My beloved home is my family and my country. Canadians pride our reputation on being friendly, welcoming, and kind…and our delicious poutine. Our character is a choice, not a routine. I am proud to say a big part of my home is my country, with people like you and me. Canadians, we are the true north, strong and free!
