My Nest
I wake up and smell the air, my mom is baking waffles, I hop out of bed and walk into the kitchen,my brothers are laughing and playing with my dog, I sit down and smother my pancakes in syrup. After breakfast me and my brothers get ready for school.once we arrive at school me and my brothers say goodbye and walk through the school doors. Today we are learning about Habitat for Humanity and the meaning of home. Our assignment was to write about what home means to us, this is what I wrote; Home is a place where there is joy and laughter and a sense of security, where you are not judged by anyone. Home is not just a structure with walls and a roof, it's home. When I finished my work it was home time as I walked home I thought about what home means to me. When I got home, dinner was on the table; chicken, steamed broccoli and mashed potatoes. I unpacked my lunch from school, and sat down, the delicious chicken slid down my throat as I chased it down with a cold glass of water. After dinner we put on our snow gear, grabbed the sleds and went over to the sledding hill by our house, and went sledding. Today I learned that home isn't a place to live, it's a place to love.
