Meaning of Home
Home is warm. The couch is cozy; the sheets are soft. I feel comfort. Home is safe. When I'm on the bus, I think of home. I think of how my bed sinks, my blankets hugging my body. My dog comes to curl up under my legs. I feel protected.
Sometimes I put on my ear buds, play my music at full volume, I rock my head back and forth. I feel the loud beats of the drums blasting into my ears, but I'm not bothered. I enjoy the loud guitar sound. It's like I'm leaving the world, and going into my own area.
Looking into the moon from my window, the radiance is calming. The light shines softly into my room and makes everything look calm. This is home. When my mom tucks me in for bed, I feel loved. This is home. I watch my favourite TV shows; I feel entertained.
I've moved around to many houses. Lots of people around, loud cars, kids screaming, birds chirping, but still so lonely. Lonely isn't bad, but calming. It's quiet and peaceful. Walking in my neighborhood all alone to meet up with friends, that’s a feeling no one can take away from me. That feeling is home.
