The Meaning of Home

Home is and can mean a lot of different things to me. It can be a house, home can be a huge hug from one of my family members, home could be my community, or it could be the small building that my grandparents live in. But there is one thing all of these scenarios have in common, they all include someone you care about. Even if I lived in a small house at the end of a cul-de-sac where I could do anything I wanted, home wouldn't be home without a person I love. I can always feel like myself at home. I can dance around without a thought of worry. Me and my family can tell silly little stories that make us giggle. At home I feel safe like the weight lifted off my shoulder that I carried all throughout the whole day. I don't have to be afraid that someone is going to come up and judge me for the way I look or think. These thoughts make me feel comfortable, and worry free. Home is also so important because of the memories it holds. For me my home is the building that my family has lived in for almost 12 years! I took my first steps and I said my first words in that house and I could never be more thankful. All my memories range from birthday parties to new years, to even just being with my friends and family. All these things are what bring me and my family together. When I’m with my family I always feel at home. When I'm at home I can always feel safe and comfortable. I feel important and cared for. Most importantly I feel loved. There are little things that make me feel at home as while like being made fun of by my older sister or the sound of the blaring fire alarm when my dad cooks that always makes my family laugh. In conclusion, Home is different for everybody and is very special to me, my friends and of course my family. Home has a very special place in my heart. When I'm home I feel safe. Home means comfort, safety, and love.
