Home is home Home is the place I was born The place I saw When I first opened my eyes to see the world Home is my safe place The place where I know I belong Home feels like the fresh clean breeze blowing in my face Home tastes like fresh water raindrops dropping in my mouth Home sounds like me, my friends, family and neighbours playing While the dogs bark and the birds chirp Home is Vancouver The place where I feel happy and welcome When I am home I know it because I find myself playing in the park Or I find myself on my wakesurf board behind the boat Or I find myself on my skis zooming down the mountain Home is like a warm cozy hug Being wrapped around you Protecting you Making you feel safe Home is home And everyone has a home Thank you Habitat For Humanity For making sure everyone has a home A safe place A place where you can feel welcome A place where you know you belong Because I know how important it is To have a home
