My Home

In my home, on any given night, you can find me and my family playing uno. In the middle of the match, my younger brother giggles. I can tell he has some good cards. What he doesn’t know is that I have a plus two card, so I could deflect it onto someone else. My whole family knows it is an all for nothing battle, and I can see it in their calm and focused eyes. If I wasted my card on somebody, I would be left with no defense. My brother has two cards, my dad three, my mom five, and I have three. Back when the round started, I knew it would be the best of them all. Now, as I predicted, my brother places his winning card. But for him, “winning” wasn't the word. I place my plus two card to reverse it to my dad. Sorry dad. As the round gets more intense than before, I am left with a blue six card. “UNO!” I yell. My mom places a Wild card and I cross my fingers for my brother to say blue. “Ummmm, blue!” my brother exclaims. I am overjoyed; my card is up. My brother places another wild card and picks blue again. BAM. I slam my card down. I win the game. Playing Uno with my family is special to me because I love drama and in Uno, you don’t reveal your cards. Everybody is trying to guess everyone’s next move. Playing board games always entertains me no matter which game, and playing them with my family in my home means we can enjoy ourselves, be happy, and be safe.
