What Home Means to Me
Family is what home means to me. I rarely get to see my dad in person because he lives in America. I see him almost every day on video call where we talk about the usual stuff, like sports or when my new bed will arrive. Even though he’s far away, my dad still inspires me. He talks to me about basketball, my favourite sport, and tells me to keep practicing and that I will get better as I grow up. I live at home with my mom and even though I’m not sure she loves sports like I do, she encourages me too. My mom helps me with my schoolwork and cooks me delicious food. I get excited when my mom cooks mac and cheese. I love when she plays with me but I know it’s hard because she works a lot in a daycare job, and has to take care of me and my sister. (My sister is sometimes annoying because she always interrupts me. She’s only a baby so I love her anyway.) I wish my mom could get more sleep and maybe have a car. One day I wish my family could all be together in one house, with a car, so when I get older I can help my mom. I always know my mom and dad will take care of me, like me, inspire me and love me. This is what home means to me.
