Meaning of Home
A house is where furniture fills the floor but my home is where love and laughter fills the air. A house is where pictures hang on the walls but my home is where we take the picture. It's where we all laugh and try to get everyone to smile. A house is where we watch tv but my home is where we create new memories.
Home to me isn't just a shelter, it's where I come home to every day. It is where my family lives, it's where we stay warm during a winter storm. It's the love my mom puts into making a warm meal that me and my family enjoy and we tell stories about our day. Laughter I hear is what makes me excited to come home every day. Me and my dad and my brother play soccer in the yard. We run and run till the sun goes down then we come in and we can smell the food that my mom has been making. My home is where my sister tells me all about her day. Her smile makes me so happy.
A house can be replaced but a home can not. When I moved, I thought my life was over. I cried for so many days, but then I realized that my home isn't where I sleep or where play, it's where my family is. When I am with my family, I know I have support by my side and I know I can be myself and I won't be judged.
That's what home means to me. I think everyone deserves a warm and loved place to live. Thanks to Habitat for Humanity. They help make sure that people have a warm place to live.
