Meaning of Home
Home is wherever my family is . When my mom, brother, and sister went to Montreal, it didn't feel like home. I was still surrounded by my house but it felt empty and quiet. Home feels comfortable. On my 10th birthday my mom bought me a new comforter and bed sheets that I really wanted. She fluffed the pillows and put each of my stuffed animals in order on my bed. When I plopped on my bed that night I felt so comfy. My head sank in the pillow, it felt like heaven. I was very grateful that I had such great parents.
Home means safety. I have a door, I have a lock, I have 4 walls surrounding me and I have a roof. But I also have my parents, my siblings, and they make me feel safe. They make me happy and protect me when I am around. I feel comfortable around them and can tell them anything.
Home sounds noisy but I like it. Every time I come back from school my mom is there giving me the warmest welcome everyday. In the background I hear the tv characters talking from the show my mom was watching. I hear the stove on, cooking food with my moms new pots and pans she bought. I hear my siblings complaining about their day. I hear many different voices and noises overlapping each other and it makes me feel comfortable. In my house I feel I won't get judged and I can sing and dance however much I want without getting anyone's opinion. Sometimes it can be very loud, it can smell bad, or I can forget to lock the doors. But these little memories we make with our families can turn our house into a home.
