What Home Means to Me

Home to me is the arena I play sports in. In the arena, I feel safe and feel like I belong, because the people I love the most are always there to support me. The arena makes me feel comfortable. I often feel like I live at the arena because I spend so much of my time there. I feel at home at every arena, but especially Tony Rose and Alder because they are my home rinks. It's where I get to do something I love while the people I love come to watch. There are a lot of other arenas that I feel safe and comfortable in, even some that are better looking or bigger, but nothing can match the arenas in Orangeville because they just give me a nostalgic feeling, because I have lived in Orangeville my whole life and grown up in these rinks. I started playing sports when I was three years old. But I have been going to these arenas since the day I was born to watch my older brother play too. I even took my first steps in the arena. I know the arena is my real home because it’s where I get to do what I love and be with the people I love. I have so many memories of my friends at the arena. But most importantly the two people that make me feel the most comfortable at the arenas are my parents, because they are always by my side and supportive of me. They are always there for me even if I have a bad game, lose a big game or even don’t make a team. They will always be there forever and we are always together at the arena so that is why it feels like home for me.
