Meaning of Home
The meaning of home is not only to have a house, but to feel like you belong in that house. If you don't feel like you belong in that house, then you should tell someone. I have two homes: my mum's house and my dad's house. I was born in my dad’s house. I feel safe in both houses.
At my mum's house, I share a room with my sister, Naiya. At my dad's house, I have my own room. Both houses have bunk beds. It’s nice to have my own room because Naiya always turns the heat up and I’m on the top bunk, so I get way too hot. I like having my own room so I can be cool, but sometimes being alone can be scary.
At my mum’s house, I have three pets, two cats and one dog. Their names are Dusky, Cosmos\Cozzie, and Takaya. My dad doesn’t have any animals, but he has a friend with a cat named Toby. Toby sometimes rubs his head on my head, and that tickles. I feel happier when animals are around. When animals are around, I feel happy and when I have my own space I feel safe and comfortable.
