Which One is Home?
What makes a house a home? My family has lived in our new house for two and a half years, but it still doesn't feel like my old house did. My old house felt more like a home to me.
My new house is echoey because it is big and has a lot of open space. My old house was also big but not as big as my new one and it felt cozier. It also didn't have a lot of open space, so it was not echoey. My new house is bright white, and it has a marble electric fireplace that goes all the way up to the roof, and it is kind of imposing. My old house was not bright white; it was soft white, and it had wood, not marble, and that made it feel a little softer.
My room in my new house is really big, and the roof is really high. The color of my room is nice but it's kind of overwhelming. It’s a bright turquoise. My old room was light purple and light green. The roof was high, but not nearly as high as the roof in my new room. But who knows, maybe after some more years it will feel more like home.
