What home means to me.
What does home mean to you? Well, before you answer that question I’ll tell you what home means to me. To some people home might be just a structure, but to me home means family. Home can be an item, my stuffed bunny reminds me of home. When you're at home you feel safe and comfortable. Home can be a certain location, I play hockey and love skating. I'm at the rink so much it is like home to me. No matter if you are travelling the world or just at school, home can always be around you.
Homes are inviting, cozy, calm and hopefully full of positive energy. Sometimes home is gloomy or sad. When I was told that my parents are separating, I was very sad. I didn’t know what was going to happen to my home. What if I am moving? What if I didn’t like my new home? I asked my mom nervously. I was worried. Thankfully my mom hugged me and told me “This home is our family home, no one is leaving.” That was good news, I never want to leave my home. I have a very vivid memory of trying to run away. I remember I angrily stomped into the backyard, eventually I got too scared, so I went back inside.
Unfortunately, some kids don’t have a home, or a family to come home to at the end of their day. Some kids left their homes because they didn’t feel safe. Thankfully I love my home and I feel safe and loved there.
Well, that’s what home means to me, but what does home mean to you?
