Not Just a Shelter

Home is not just a shelter; it is like a book of happy and sad memories. Home includes my tiny little touches that remind me of my early childhood. Home is filled with love and affection because of my lovely and caring family. My parents not only taught me the alphabet for school, but also taught me good behaviour and discipline. My home is sometimes a restaurant for the tasty food my family makes, sometimes a cozy theatre where I enjoy watching movies with my family, and sometimes it's a clinic when my parents take care of me when I am sick. It can even be an indoor playground when I enjoy games with my family. Once, my parents made a basketball net with a storage bin which they hung up using a hook so my sister and I could enjoy playing basketball indoors. My sister sometimes makes me laugh by making funny jokes, and I think all these memories are parts of my home. A house can be turned into a home if I have my family and make memories there, because the house is just a shelter without them. Home is the place where I feel the most comfortable, relaxed, and safe. When I enter my home, I feel refreshed, like jumping into a swimming pool. Home sounds like a place where I belong. The size of the home doesn’t matter either; it's family and the memories there that matter. A lovely family can make a home feel like heaven.
