The Meaning of Home

Home is where I smell the coffee brewing in the pot, hear the hockey game in the background, and see the cat playing with her toys and running around the house. I feel like I belong here. When I realise that I have a bed, food, family, and a home, I feel lucky, grateful, and fortunate. I am. A home means so much, with support, security, and lots and lots of love. Home is a place that helps you through the bad times and supports you in the good, and you could never feel as good anywhere as in your home. It is a loving place, full of laughter and joy. In a home, you hear the floorboards creak beneath your feet, and you can come home and be yourself. Home is where I belong and where I feel welcomed. The days are heavy, but then I get home, I feel better already. I put my stuff away, head upstairs, get changed into some comfy clothes, then go back downstairs. I cook myself some dinner. After dinner, I take my dog on a long, peaceful walk, then we get back home, and I pour myself some fresh lemonade. Then I go sit and relax, but before I know it, it’s time for bed, so I head upstairs and brush my teeth, then I hop into bed. “Home is where love lives, memories are created, friends always belong, and laughter never ends.”
