Home, A Place in My Heart

Home is a place where you feel safe, warm in the winter, cool in the summer. Home is a place where I will always see family, who will comfort me and make me feel loved. Home is a place where cooking will fill the air, and stories will be shared around the table. Home is a place to settle down after a long day. Home is a place I will always recognize on the side of the road, from any direction. Home is a place that stands out from the others more than the tallest skyscraper. Home is a place filled with love. Home is a place safer than the most secure bank vault. Home is a place with gadgets and toys, and they might bring a lot of noise! Home is a place with food to share, and when family visits it's a big affair! Home is a place with gifts around the tree, with eager kids saying “Woo-hoo!” and “Yippee!”. If my home was a smell, it would smell like delicious food being cooked. If home were a sound, it would be laughing and joy. If home were a texture, it would be softer than a bird's feathers. If home were a taste, it would be good food filling me up. If home were a sight, it would be more beautiful than a meadow of flowers on a perfect sunny day. And so, as I conclude this today, home will always be a place in my heart, and forever stay that way.
