HOME

A home is not a house and a house is not a home. A home is a place where memories live, a home warms you with hugs and kisses. A home is a place to laugh and cry, a home is a place to hold you inside. A home is the picture on the wall that shows someone catching you when you fall. A home cuddles you when you’re sad, a home jumps with you when you’re glad. A home covers you with blankets, turns on the fireplace and warms up hot chocolate when it’s snowing. A home makes you cold lemonade for the outside sun glowing. A home gives you protection, comfort and love. A home is your friend like two turtledoves. A home helps you with hard times, a home is with you in sad times, and a home laughs with you in happy times. A home reminds you that there’s no rainbow without the rain, and that you are tough, even with the pain. When I am hurt, my home is my band aid, and when I am too hot my home is my shade. A home is your friend who gives you peace and keeps you calm. A home saves you the last cake piece and holds your palm. A home is the one, who holds you with pride, and whispers in your ear “ it’s going to be alright.” A home prepares your bed when you’re tired, and holds you to sleep. A home awakes you with a lovely bird tweet. A home gets you excited for the next day, especially when it’s shopping at the Bay! A house is not a home and a home is not a house. I love my home and I hope this poem shows you, The Meaning of Home.
