Meaning of Home

Home is a place where I feel safe, comfortable and can be myself surrounded by the people I love. When I think of home I think of my old life and my old country, where I used to live in a small apartment. Every morning I'd wake up to the smell of my dad's food, a hug from my brother, and laughter all around me. We would sit on my couch, watch movies and listen to my dad's old jokes. Every morning I'd go to school and find my friends waiting for me at the front gate of my school. We laughed while we walked to class. Sure our teachers were strict and they would hit your desk with a ruler. But they were also kind. After a test at the end of the year if you were good at something they would encourage you and give you prizes. Now to my house. It was an apartment. Me and my brother share one bedroom, and my mom and my dad share one bedroom. The kitchen, sofa and our TV and the pantry are in one giant room, my dad's giant closet, and the two bathrooms. Me, my brother, mom and dad lived in that apartment. I wish I could go back to that life.
