The Meaning of Home to Me!

Sometimes we don’t know the difference between a house and a home, but we can identify it easily if we understand it very carefully and we might be doing it using our actions in our daily life without even noticing. A home is filled with our loved ones and our emotions. For example, you are leaving your house to go to a new house and you will feel sad before leaving as well you’ll remember all the wonderful memories you had inside your house, that is the meaning of a home. For easier understanding, home is like an emotion that we feel or think about inside a building. An example is, when you go to a friend’s house and you know that you can express your emotions with the people that live there. This feels like home. Sometimes when your friends call you their home, you might think what does that mean because you’re not a building. The reason they say this is that they feel comfortable around you and it's like home to them, a place where they feel comfortable enough to express their emotions or feelings freely. One can even call their parents, siblings, friends, cousins etc. their home because they feel safe with them. These people are your comfort place. As I said earlier about the memories, it's not always happy or positive memories, they can be sad, angry, scared and many other emotions. We can feel different emotions in one place. To me this is home. It is not necessarily always a building or a place. It can be the people that surround you, that support you, love you and make you feel safe. This is home to me!
