Meaning of Home
For me, in my home, family is everything. It can be chosen family or close friends, it does not make a difference. Family is family and that is something that will never change. Sometimes they can drive you up the wall but that’s just part of loving each other. Home is more than just objects, its feelings too. These are some things that are special to me in my home.
My room
I see a bed as soft as my dog, A closet as stuffed as me after Thanksgiving dinner, my stepdad Nick trying to wake me up in the morning, my cat Peanut sleeping on the heater and my dog Lemon sleeping like a log on my bed. I hear my dog Lemon snoring on my bed, my step dad Nick thumping down the hall, my dog Lemon jumping off my bed and my step dad Nick snoring as loud as an elephant down the hall. I smell my dogs Lemon and Peppers Dorito toes on my bed, breakfast cooking in the kitchen when I wake up and all my moisterisers and hair products. I touch a pink bed as fluffy as my dog, my 4 plants and my dog’s fluffy body. I taste my dog’s hair and late-night snacks!
My living room
I see a couch as cushy as a cloud, a couch cover the coulor of the leaves in summer, a glowing soft pink lamp and my dogs having a royal rumble on my soft carpet. I hear my mom complaining about the tv being on, chips crunching on movie night and my step dad Nick snoring on the couch. I smell popcorn on movie night and my dogs’ fur!
My playroom
I see a million toys from shelf to shelf, fancy wine glasses in an antique cupboard, books about birds that belonged to my grandpa and a cat tree. I hear games falling off the shelf, my cat purring and sharp claws ticking on the wood floor. I smell the scent of my grandpa and grandma and dusty books. I touch toys all around and wooden shelf’s. I taste dust lots and lots of dust and a bubbly taste.
My kitchen
I see dinner in the making, family game night and a beautiful countertop. I hear the giant range hood, dishes clattering and people talking at the dinner table. I smell a delicious dinner and dirty dishes. I touch glass plates, metal pots and a smooth quartz countertop.
But in all this home is family. It does not matter where I am as long as I’m with my family. Sometimes the road gets bumpy, but I will always love them.
