Meaning of Home

It was a sunny afternoon and me, my sister Emma, and our mom and dad were gathered in the fireplace room sitting on our two couches. My mom had just finished setting up our fake Christmas tree that we’ve used for the past few years. It was time to decorate our tree! It’s a tradition that we decorate the tree together every year! I heard the sound of my mom and dad opening the Christmas themed boxes of ornaments. I saw my family's smiles as we grabbed ornaments and found good spots to hang them up. I felt very happy and included, and I was filled with love for my family while we talked about memories new and old. To me home means being able to smile when I’m happy and cry when I’m sad. It’s somewhere where I can feel comfortable and be myself. Home means being with the people I love and sharing special moments, big and small. Everyone deserves a safe and loving home.
