Home

A home is not just made of walls. Instead, it is made of love. A home contains different qualities such as a special memory with a person one loves. If someone asks me what a home is to me, I would say it is a place where I can feel safe, have happy memories, and be with my family. Firstly, a home is where I feel secure. For instance, when I first moved to Canada, I felt nervous. It took me about months to get used to my new environment. I felt nervous because it was a foreign country and I did not speak English well. Now that I have been in Canada for three years, I feel more secure since I met various people in my neighborhood and improved my English skills. Secondly, happy memories make up a crucial part of a home. One of my homes is the soccer field. My favourite memory is when I jumped in the air and kicked the ball over my head. I felt so happy when I first did this trick called bicycle kick. I still remember that moment clearly, like watching it in slow motion. These happy memories at the soccer field make my home outstanding. Lastly, a home is where my family is. My family supports me throughout my life and makes difficult times go by easily. To give an example, when I was younger, I could not control my feelings skillfully. One day, my parents taught me about having good manners. Since then, I have tried to have good manners. To me, it is essential to have my family around to make a strong sense of a home. Therefore, home is not just a place. It is where I feel safe, remember fond moments, and have my family around.
