The Place I Call Mine
My home is laughter floating on the breeze, smells of dinner wafting through the house, and stories woven out of memories. My home is a place where memories are made, imaginations wander and love always pull you through. It is built on love, family, and faith.
The love of my family, my friends and the love I feel for the people around me.
My family are the people I love most. My mom, my dad, my aunties, uncles, cousins, Nana, Papa, Oma, Opa and most importantly my little sister. Even when I was across a sea, I was at home because I was with my family.
I live in a community of faithful people that all love and support me. My faith means I will always have my home and family with me.
Home is more than four walls and a roof. My home is music I feel in my bones and hear with my heart. It is strong hugs, stacks of books and the taste of something sweet. My home is warm summer nights, cozy blankets and “Just one more chapter?”. Home is playing pretend in our basement, dancing with friends and stories in bed.
My home is where I feel safe and loved, supported by family and friends. A home is a place you are truly you. My home is the place I call mine.
Thank you, Habitat for Humanity for giving so many people a place to make their own.
