The Meaning of Home

Home. It's a place to feel safe, happy and grateful. All emotions are felt in a home, whether it's an apartment, house, condo or even a camper, it could be big like a mountain, or small as a classroom, it could be a home you dread going to or one you wish you could always be in, one full of joy, one full of sadness, but then… there's the blanket. Yes you heard me. Full of fear, anger and sadness too. It's not fair. That shouldn't be one of them, not ever. No windows, no welcoming door or clean bedrooms but an empty coffee cup with a couple cents. Home is a sweet place, and my home is a small 2 bedroom apartment, a nice bedroom all for me, a bathroom with different kinds of soap and a roof over my head, but then there's the open sky and possibly a roof of a shelter and sometimes a store roof and that's not fair. The wind blows my hair when the window is open and I have a car to sit in, a couch, a door… and it's so common to not have a single one of those. people may judge me but not in my home, while others on the sidewalk get those terrible judging looks, some may ignore them because they are scared. That's not fair.
