Family
Home isn't just where you sleep, it's your family and memories. It's where you go to feel welcomed on the hardest days.
To me home means being with my mom, dad, grandma, and a big fluffy dog spreading his fur everywhere. It means feeling welcomed on the hardest days. It’s somewhere I can go after being cold in the rain to warm up and somewhere I can go and instantly feel loved.
Me and my mom can sink into the plush cushions of our comfy couch, bundled together under a snug, toasty blanket while watching our favorite TV shows as we munch on some smoky barbeque chips and relax and enjoy the night.
With my dad we can make my favorite foods like tacos, dumplings, chicken, or soup, tasting them as we go. In the summer I can also go on hikes through the forest listening to the creek rushing through with us listening to the birds singing and looking at the moss covered rocks, which in my opinion have always resembled trolls.
Sitting with my grandma, I can listen to her vivid stories about growing up in China, gaining a rare window into what her life was like back then. Each memory she shares helps me learn about her childhood world and the experiences that shaped her
Finally, I can cuddle with my fluffy dog, gently patting his coarse hair as we relax together. Just being with him makes me feel calm, making it the perfect way to unwind after a long day. I can go outside and throw snow balls at him in the winter or throw his ball all while I take in the breathtaking forest. I end my day by going to sleep knowing that I'm at home. `
