What home means to me

For me home means my dad laughing at a funny joke, my mom putting on her favorite artist Kenny Rogers, and me playing a board game with my sister. Home is a sanctuary where I feel safe and away from harm. It is where I can nestle down and read a wonderful book, where I can let my imagination run far and wild through the craziest things possible. Home is my little heaven where I can get my workouts in, and play nerf wars with my sister. It's where I have my cat, dog, sister, mother, and father. It's where on winter nights when snow covers the ground and it is very cold, we can turn up the fireplace watch a movie and sip hot chocolate. It is where you can see pictures from vacations, family reunions, birthdays and days that turned out to be something special. All those photos are memories that we will look back on with a smile and say those days were the best days of our lives. Home is where I have my bookshelf full of books such as 1984, Fahrenheit 451, Animal Farm, The Road to Wigan Pear, Brave New World and on and on. It is where I can grab a book, lay down on my bed and read. Home is where I belong. It is where I thrive. It Is where I am welcome. It is where I have my family. That is what home means to me.
