Home, Home is a Place

Home is a place where we feel safe, loved, and understood. Home is a place where we play, laugh, and spend time with our family. Home is a place where we wake up and smell the delicious food that our ancestors passed down to our family. We would say, “MMM, thanks, Mom, for cooking breakfast!” and stuff our stomachs with traditional food. Home is a place where we say "Please," "Thank you," and "You're welcome," and other words that make people feel good. Home is a place where we jump into our bed and read a fantastic book while sipping hot chocolate. Home is a place where we say “I love you" to our family, and they say, “I love you too." "Home is a place where we go outside to play with our friends and make jokes with them and laugh loudly. Home is a place where we go to our warm, comfy bed, and then our mom walks in and reads a short story and says, “I love you," then kisses us on the forehead and walks out your bedroom door to flick the lights off. Home is a place where we wake up and jump out of our beds to get ready for school, to play with our friends, to learn new things, and to say "hello!" to everyone we meet. If home weren’t a thing, we would all be sad, miserable, and wet from the rain or cold from the snow. But home is a thing. If I didn't have a home, I would still have been happy that I still got a chance to live, but unfortunately not everyone here has a home in our world. People all over the world are helping each other by making new homes for the people who don't have a home, and we should donate as much money as we can for the people in need. We should all be thankful for our parents for giving us a home away from the rain so we won't get wet and cold or sick; we should all say “thank you" to our parents.
