Home
Home is a place where family business meetings are held but instead of talking about important business matters we are talking about our day and having lots of laughter. Mom makes pasta for everybody to enjoy. We play a game called Crocono where my grandpa always wins because he's been playing for around 30-40 years now.
Home feels like being by a warm campfire with my Grandma's homemade blanket and the soft fur on my as I pet her small head. My home always feels like my hair trickling down my face when I'm in the warm shower.
Home sounds like my brother chirping in my ears when I'm trying to sleep in. A mother wolf crying at the beautiful night sky has her little babies play under the trees. It also sounds like the sizzling of the stove when my Mom makes the most delicious spaghetti.
Home smells like the crackling of my Mom's roast beef stew before we can eat it. Waffles cooking on the toaster when I'm sleepily waking up. The smell of fresh toast as my brother starts to gently play on my back when I'm trying to sleep.
Home is not just a place that has four walls and some furniture, it's where people have laughter and lots and lots of fun. It is where families eat oh so delicious food like French toast with sweet sausages. It's not just a place where people live, it's where people are safe and sound. It is not just a structure in the ground, it's a place to learn and be super happy.
Homes matter to everyone because not everyone has a home they can feel safe in. A home can change someone's life. Habitat for Humanity helps people achieve this by building homes. When people don't have homes they become lonely, cold & scared. My wish for the future is that more homes could be built for people who are in need so they can feel protected and loved like me.
