HOME IS A PLACE WHERE… Where you have a roof over your head. It's cozy and warm. There's water, food, furniture, blankets, family, friends. It’s peaceful, welcoming, and calm. It's spending time together with those you love. HOME FEELS LIKE… When our family rests together on Sunday. A calmness when I’m snuggled up to my dog. When listening to my music. I feel centred and mindful. HOME SOUNDS LIKE… My sister yelling at me. The sound of laughter. My family is playing card games. A hockey stick hitting the ground. The playful growls when my dad is playing with my dog Koda. HOME SMELLS LIKE… A pot of beans sizzling on the stove. The smell of my dog’s fur. My dad’s cologne after he gets out of the shower. The beautiful smell of the plants that decorate our home. The smell of shampoo from the bathroom walls. A HOME IS NOT JUST… The furniture, it's about keeping your family safe. A home is a resting place. Where my family can be together. It is a mindfulness. It is calming. It keeps me as safe as a fox protecting its den. HOME TO ME… Is my mothers love as I feel her soft fluffy sweater. Her hugs. Spending time with my family. Playing Checkers and Play Nine. It means taking a break with one another.
