My Home
Home is a place where there is a roof over my head. I have heat and warmth over the long winters. Where memories will be had together as a family both inside or outside. It’s where mom and dad’s hugs are given after a hard day.
Home feels like happiness when playing tag and hide and seek with my sisters. It feels like hugs and a nice warm cup of tea or a soft blanket wrapped around me. I will be safe no matter what danger may happen.
Home sounds like laughter or a crackling fire warming my face when it gets cold. Playing cards as a family on Saturday as the cards getting shuffled or the cards dropping to the table. I can hear mom washing the dishes after a day of school… the water splashing and pots and pans banging.
Home smells like nice fresh laundry that has just come out of the dryer. It smells like lavender, the smells in my home are beautiful. It smells like the windows are open for hours and hours because it will always smell just so fresh like nature.
A home is not just a place where there are four walls and shelter from the weather… the rain, cold and big scary storms. A home will travel to every place I go but a house stays wherever it was built, a place to get rest, to stay safe and remember unforgettable memories.
My home means to me a lot of amazing memories of laughter, pictures hanging on the walls of my family's summer travels and stories of our sledding journeys. My home is a place full of love.
Not everyone has a safe home to live in but one little thing, like helping Habitat for Humanity could change a life forever. It's called kindness and a wish for the future.
