Meaning of Home
Home means more than an actual house. To me, home means safety. When I hear the word home I think of a place where I feel comfortable, where I can be myself and a place where I feel loved. That is why home is where I feel safe.
One reason home is safety is because I feel comfortable there. There are many places where I feel relaxed like on my couch wrapped in a warm blanket or in my cozy bedroom with my purple led lights and heart shaped cushions. I feel comfortable enough to be myself, which connects to my next reason.
Another reason home means safety to me is because I know I can be myself. It doesn’t matter if I’m happy, sad, angry, worried or excited. Home is basically the one place where I can do whatever I want without getting judged. I don’t have to pretend to be happy when I’m having a bad day. I’m allowed to be me!
Feeling loved while at home is my third reason why home means safety. My family knows when I need a hug, or a listening ear. I normally come home after a long day to my mom making me my favorite dinner. Every weekend we either have a movie night or a competitive game night (and by the way, I always win). We enjoy snacks and laugh all night.
In conclusion, home isn’t just a place where I live. It’s my safe place where I can be myself, where I’m comfortable and where I know I’m loved. Whether I’m laughing about a joke with my family or just relaxing in my room having a quiet moment, home will forever be my safe place
