What the Meaning of Home Is

The meaning of home to me is a place where I can feel loved, a place where I can feel warmth from my family of four, two pets and occasionally our vacuum and moping robot for when I spill a drink. My family's love feels like a warm fire in the cold snowy forest. It's not just a place I spend time studying, sleeping and eating. It's a place I know I'm safe and can let problems drift away from concern and doubt. Home is a place where I can cuddle up with my family on a movie night trying to watch something scary but always end up pausing it half way through. Home is a place where I come home prepared, throwing a jacket on my cat to stop him from exiting the door or protecting my brother when the little cheetah gets the zoomies because when he gets them he's like lightning and my brother is his number one target. That said, things aren't always perfect. There are always some issues like piano. I don't always like it but when your hard work pays off you have a small tingling sensation of accomplishment and proudness. Like the time I had a piano competition I did not very much enjoy practising and polishing, but my family's support really encouraged me to keep on going. And without them I think I would have quit a long time ago, when the time came my family told me just to try my best and that was all that mattered. With their help I did great and even won, they let me compete in another competition! Only this time almost everyone was older than me, my parents said they would be proud even if I lost because I did the best I could. I thought I stood no chance against them, they all were so amazing! But to my surprise I won again thanks to my family. My family is the source of my bravery and strength. Home is not just a place, home is a place that's waving to me with a warm welcome and a smile, it's where my family is, things I cherish and where I feel comfortable, safe, loved and happy. Home can be anything and wherever. Home is only where my family is.
