Meaning of home

If someone were to look at my home, they would probably think of how a nice family lives there, or how it might look nice inside, or they might wonder if they have kids. But when you know the home, it has a different meaning. When I look at my friend's home, I remember the trampoline we used to jump on in the summer. But when you look at your own home, you think of the safe haven of your room, the sizzle of the food in the kitchen, and the smile of your sister when you tell her a joke you heard earlier at school. School. A lot of people think school is safe. A place where you can be unique and yourself, a place of teachers and fun and clubs and snacks. But when some kids come home, it's not fun or safe anymore. 10 little fingers come home from school to a house. Not a home. My home is special. It's not just lumber and metal and paint and glass. My home is a home. Home is a feeling, a smell, a sound and a story. Once upon a time, a small family moved into a house. Slowly but surely, It became a home for a kid, a baby, a mom, a dad, a dog, and a lot of memories. Home means a feeling, too. Home is the feeling that everything will be alright. It's the feeling that you are safe and loved. When I think of home I think about the muffins my mom makes before school, and how I can smell them when I’m in the shower. Home is the sound of the dog’s paws on the floor when I go to sleep. And the twinkle of the lights, When I go to sleep.
