Meaning of Home
Home is more than just a house with walls and a roof. To me, home is a place where I feel safe enough to be myself. When I walk through the door, I know I'm not alone. My family is there, and that feeling matters more than anything.
Home smells like dinner cooking and sounds like laughing, talking, and the controller clicking during video games after school. Sometimes it's just all of us sitting around the kitchen table, half-doing homework, half-talking about our day, not really in a rush to be anywhere else. It's where my brother and I play and joke around, argue sometimes, and then forget about it five minutes later. It's where my Mum always makes sure we're okay, even when things aren't perfect. I don’t have to pretend or worry at home because I know I belong there.
Home is where memories are made without trying. Watching movies on the couch together, gathering in the kitchen like it’s the heart of our home, and late night talks about anything and everything – they all happen there. Home doesn't have to be big or fancy. What matters is how it feels inside.
I hope every family can have a home where they feel protected and loved, just like I do.
