My Home is Where Wonder Explodes

My house isn’t just a big box with windows and doors. It’s where I feel wonder and where my imagination spreads like a virus. It’s where I feel loved and welcome. It is my home. My kitchen brings back memories, like when I baked banana bread and chocolate chip cookies with my mom, and made protein bars with my dad. It is where amazing smells come to life and carry me away into a totally different universe. We laugh, talk, and cry in the living room, making special moments together. Now we are all watching the Olympics. GO CANADA GO! We make moments that I can remember for all eternity, like birthdays and Christmas. While my game consoles are napping on rest mode waiting to be played, I find my imagination flying through the air. My cute and tiny puppy loves to curl up on my lap and snuggle with me on the couch while I’m watching TV on cold winter evenings. We play games, eat dinner, and host all of our family dinners in my dining room. There’s lots of moments resting on that dinner table. Christmas and New Year’s Eve dinners, birthdays, Easter celebrations, sport nights when we have BBQ wings, and competitive game nights. Happiness, talking, and laughter fill the air and making it impossible not to catch its contagion. My Bedroom isn’t just 4 walls lining up together. It’s where every wall contains special memories from the 10 years of my life. My paintings from 2020, and diamond art from last year. Medals from dance and achievements I’ve had cover my walls and remind me of the joy and hard work. Furniture from Christmas’s and birthdays mean a lot to me. I sleep in my bedroom, I read, I laugh, and I cry. My bedroom is where I feel alive, heroic and like I can save the world. Everybody’s feeling of home is different, with different perspectives and different stories to tell to their families. This writing is just about my feeling of home. My Home isn’t just a box. It’s where my wonder comes to life.
