Home is Where I am Free

In the heart of Canada where trees grow green There is a home where I am completely free My home protects me from rain and snow That is where my memories grow Long ago I moved away India was where I used to stay A big house there, Buddy (my dog) so kind Those are memories in my mind In 2020 when I came to Canada life was slow No friends, empty streets and nowhere to go No schools no playground no teachers to greet Just virtual classes on Google Meet The house was small and life was tough But my family stayed together and that was enough Together we smile, together we stay Helping each other in our way Now I have a home where I belong With my own room where I feel strong In my room I can go to my bookshelf Then find a cozy spot to read to myself We laugh, we cheer, we sometimes shout But that’s what gaming is all about Levels, quests and worlds I see I play my games and feel so free Our home is filled with care My family’s love is always there Hugs and kisses fill every space My family’s love lights up this place Now I understand what home can be It’s not the room or walls I see A house can be big, and a house can be small That’s not what home means at all Home is where I feel safe and free Where my family is there for me Houses may change as life goes on I know my home where I belong
