What does home mean to me?

Home is not just a word, it's a feeling too! Home is when you feel safe, happy and calm. To me home means having fun with my Mom, Dad, brother, and cat while listening to the calming sound of birds and other animals singing in the spring and summertime. Home is the fun discussions we have at the supper table every day after school. I feel happy and lucky to have that time every day because some families don’t! Some families don’t have that feeling of safety, happiness and calm, that’s not right. It’s not ok that some people don’t have that place where they can know for sure that nothing bad will happen to them. It’s important to have a home. There are so many things I love in my house like on the warm summer days when I love to watch the squirrels play as I feel the softness of the carpet downstairs. I love the days where my family plays board games all day. We always laugh and have fun. I wish everyone could have days like that. To me home is when I come back to my house and smell the amazing smell of delicious food that Mom or Dad make for me and my brother while we are at Grammie’s house after school. It always tastes so good. But most of all, the most important thing about a home is having all the people you love every night to spend time with you. And that is what home means to me.
